What is FIRST® Robotics Competition (FRC)?

Under strict rules and with limited resources, teams of 25+ high school students work together to design, build, and program robots.
Guided by mentors (engineers, teachers, and business professionals), they develop technical and life skills.
Teams focus on fundraising, branding, teamwork, and outreach to succeed.

FIRST® provides opportunities to:

Explore interests in engineering, technology, and design.
Develop leadership, teamwork, and confidence.
Motivate students in STEM education and career opportunities.

How FRC Works

1️⃣ Game Manual Release: January – Teams receive the rules for the season.
2️⃣ Planning: Teams collaborate to develop a strategy and allocate roles.
3️⃣ Building: Six weeks to design, build, and program a functional robot.
4️⃣ Community Impact: Create presentations and reports on how the team benefits the local community.
5️⃣ Fundraising: Build a business plan to secure funding for operations.
6️⃣ Competition: Showcase the robot in regional events in March --> state and national events in April.
